Themed Project work

Themed Project work

Each term specially selected topics are chosen, so that the children learn a variety of inter-dependent skills based on a particular topic. Elements from key learning areas throughout the Foundation stage curriculum.

Practical skills

Practical skills

We firmly believe that learning is fun and we place a very strong emphasis on practical work, from cooking to craft. Children are encouraged to use their imagination and develop dexterity as well as to enjoy themselves. Our activities are always undertaken with the utmost attention to safety

Outdoor Activities

Outdoor Activities

Playtime is one of the most important aspects of the school day. Children learn to enhance their social skills by interacting with their peers and to develop their confidence and sense of responsibility. An exciting range of outdoor equipment encourages physical activity and helps to develop co-operation. Children are carefully supervised during playtime to ensure their safety.

WE HAVE AN INDOOR, AIRCONDITIONED PLAY AREA FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS.

Excursions

Excursions

Each year we aim to expand the children’s knowledge and understanding of the world by giving them an appreciation of people and the environment around them. Visitors with a special interest to share are invited to the school, and trips to local areas of interest are arranged with the permission of parents.

Medical attention

Medical attention

The school will continue to insure the children against injuries while at the school or even if taken by the school outside for a practical activity. If a child is injured in any way, first our school nurse will assess the injury (subsequently, we will call an ambulance if it is serious). We will then Contact the parents and in the case of the child being transferred to a hospital, a member of our staff will attend with them.

PLEASE MAKE SURE WE HAVE ATLEAST 2 EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBERS/CONTACTS FOR THIS PURPOSE.
